Malacañang confirmed that the Konektadong Pinoy bill has officially lapsed into law after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. took no action within the 30-day period allotted for review.
The new law seeks to improve connectivity across the country by easing entry for internet service providers and encouraging stronger digital infrastructure investments.
Advocates say the measure is a step forward in bridging the digital divide, especially in underserved and remote communities.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has been supporting the measure, which is now a law.
