Louis Vuitton has confirmed that it suffered a cyberattack earlier this month, resulting in the unauthorized access of customer data. According to Robb Report, the luxury brand stated that hackers breached its system, potentially compromising personal information. The company said it had taken immediate action to contain the breach and continues to investigate the incident.

Louis Vuitton according to Robb Report said that it had “recently fallen victim to a cyberattack” and took “all necessary measures to identify the origin of this attack and limit its impact.” The company added that the investigation is ongoing and that it remains fully committed to taking appropriate actions.

The breach affected customers in France, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and, according to news.com.au, Australia. The Australian report revealed that names, phone numbers, email addresses, and postal addresses were among the information exposed in the incident.

While Louis Vuitton has not publicly disclosed how many individuals were affected, news.com.au noted that Australian customers received direct email notifications from the brand.

Although the Philippines was not included in the list of affected countries cited in either report, several local customers have shared that they received similar breach notifications from Louis Vuitton Philippines.

The email claimed that an unauthorized third party accessed customer information on July 2, and reassured recipients that no credit card, bank, or financial account data was involved.

The notification also stated that the incident had been contained and that additional cybersecurity measures were being implemented.

As of this writing, Louis Vuitton has not released a region-specific advisory for the Philippines.

The legitimacy of the localized notification is still being verified. Customers are advised to exercise caution, refrain from clicking on any suspicious links, and await further confirmation from official Louis Vuitton channels.
