Western Union and Filipino financial services provider JuanPay have entered into a partnership to bring international money transfer services to more communities across the Philippines.

Under the partnership, customers will be able to send and receive international remittances through participating JuanPay locations, adding cross-border money transfers to services already available at the outlets, including bills and loan payments, government transactions, pharmacy services and other consumer services.

The companies said the initial rollout will cover around 1,400 priority JuanPay locations, with plans to progressively expand the service across JuanPay’s wider network of 2,000 owned and franchise-operated outlets nationwide.

The partnership is expected to particularly serve communities with strong ties to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including provincial areas where customers may prefer in-person financial services or have varying levels of access to digital connectivity.

JuanPay, a subsidiary of ACM Group of Companies, operates through a network of local entrepreneurs and provides non-bank financial services in communities across the country.

The partnership combines JuanPay’s local retail network with Western Union’s international financial network, which covers more than 200 countries and territories.

For Western Union, the agreement adds another physical channel for its remittance services in the Philippines, complementing its existing retail and digital operations. The company launched an upgraded mobile app in the country in October 2025 with send-and-request capabilities.

β€œOur vision for JuanPay has always been to bring essential financial services closer to Filipino communities. Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access. Ultimately, this is about making trusted financial services more accessible and convenient for every Juan,” ACM Group of Companies Chairman Rico Fernando Chico said.

Atty. Rafael Angelo Padilla, president of ACM Business Solutions Inc., said the partnership represents an important step in JuanPay’s effort to broaden access to financial services.

β€œJuanPay proudly marks the signing of its commercial partnership with Western Union, bringing together two organizations committed to making financial services more accessible, cost-efficient and convenient. This partnership represents an important milestone in JuanPay’s mission to broaden financial access and deliver trusted, technology-enabled solutions to Filipinos across the country,” Padilla said.

Western Union Senior Vice President and Head of APAC Vince Tallent said multi-service locations remain important for customers who prefer face-to-face assistance or live in areas with varying levels of digital connectivity.

β€œThe partnership with JuanPay serves the purpose of being where customers are and creates an exciting distribution model that combines the best of both our strengths – JuanPay’s strong local reach in the Philippines and Western Union’s unmatched global presence, making international financial services more accessible for people and communities that need them the most,” Tallent said.

Gregory Laurent, Western Union regional vice president for the Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands, said the collaboration is intended to integrate remittance services into platforms and locations Filipinos already use.

β€œBy collaborating with JuanPay, we’re creating new and more effective ways to serve customers, making international remittances more accessible, convenient and integrated into the platforms they already use every day,” Laurent said.

Western Union provides cross-border, cross-currency money movement, payment and digital financial services across more than 200 countries and territories and nearly 130 currencies.

JuanPay, meanwhile, provides payment services through its JuanPay Centers, including utility bills, government contributions and fees, loans and other business services. Its franchise model also allows local entrepreneurs to operate community-based financial service locations.
