TECNO launches CAMON SLIM 5G in PH with fashion runway celebrating Filipino women
TECNO introduced its CAMON SLIM 5G in the Philippines through a fashion runway featuring 15 women from different backgrounds, combining smartphone technology, Filipino design, and personal stories under its βMake It Lighterβ campaign.
Held on Oct. 1, the launch, dubbed βMAKE IT LIGHTER: The Living Cover Runway,β featured celebrities, entrepreneurs, working mothers, women in technology, and community builders who shared their experiences while showcasing the new smartphone.
The event highlighted the CAMON SLIM 5Gβs ultra-slim design, imaging capabilities, and battery capacity while celebrating the different roles and responsibilities of modern Filipino women.
15 women take center stage
Unlike a traditional smartphone launch, TECNO transformed the event into a fashion runway where each participant was presented as the cover of her own story.
As the women walked down the runway carrying the CAMON SLIM 5G, their names and identities appeared on an LED screen, accompanied by narrations highlighting their personal journeys.
Among the participants were actress and Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena, and Max Collins.
The runway also featured advertising professional and solo working mother Ely Halig, whose story highlighted balancing motherhood, career, and her passion for competitive padel.
Twinkle Dimayuga, another solo mother, shared her experience of turning personal challenges into community action through MAMA, or Mothers Advocating through Ministry and Action.
Young led the runway finale, highlighting her journey from pageantry to entertainment.
All 15 participants wore outfits inspired by modern Filipiniana, incorporating burgundy red, the smartphoneβs signature color.
The designs featured structured silhouettes, translucent fabrics, pleats, and fluid draping, with each outfit reflecting the personality and experiences of the woman wearing it.
CAMON SLIM 5G features
At the center of the launch was the CAMON SLIM 5G, which combines an ultra-slim design with a large battery and advanced mobile photography features.
The smartphone measures just 6.39mm thick while housing a 6,000mAh battery.
It also features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera, Super-Zoom FlashSnap, and TECNO Universal Tone imaging technology.
TECNO positioned the device as a smartphone designed for users who want a slim, stylish device without sacrificing battery capacity and photography capabilities.
The launch venue also featured portrait displays and dedicated product experience areas, allowing guests to explore the smartphone alongside the fashion presentations.
TECNO highlights stories of working women
The event also offered a preview of TECNOβs collaboration with artist and photographer AngΓ©lica Dass.
The Philippine chapter of the project will focus on working women, particularly solo working mothers, and explore their experiences through the Filipino concept of “diskarte,” or resourcefulness and adaptability.
Through portrait photography, the collaboration aims to highlight womenβs identities beyond their professional and family responsibilities.
TECNO said more details about the collaboration will be revealed later in October.
