GOAB launches AI engineering masterclasses for tech teams
Geeks On A Beach (GOAB) is launching a series of virtual artificial intelligence engineering masterclasses in October, focusing on building production-ready AI systems while managing costs, security risks, and software development workflows.
The GOAB AI Engineering Masterclass Series will feature practitioner-led sessions covering AI software architecture and AI-augmented software engineering as organizations increasingly move generative AI projects from experimentation into production.
GOAB said the initiative comes as companies face challenges in deploying AI systems beyond the pilot stage, including rising application programming interface (API) costs, security concerns, and architectural complexity.
The first module, “AI Software Architecture: From Vibe Coding to Production,” will be led by Vince Loremia on Oct. 7 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The sessions will cover production architecture, endpoint security, caching, and local routing techniques aimed at reducing reliance on costly external AI services. GOAB said some of the techniques can cut API costs by as much as 90 percent, depending on implementation.
The second module, “AI-Augmented Software Engineering: Workflows & Cloud Agents,” will be conducted by Prince John Santillan on Oct. 20 and 22, also from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
It will focus on integrating AI into software development workflows, including multi-model orchestration using tools such as Claude, Codex, and Grok, as well as asynchronous development through Cursor Cloud Agents.
Each module consists of four hours of live virtual sessions and includes access to session replays and a module certificate.
Early-bird passes are priced from $79 to $99, or approximately ₱4,600 to ₱5,700, and are available until Sept. 30.
The masterclass series takes the place of GOAB’s traditional in-person beachfront conference this year, with organizers opting for virtual technical sessions amid the rapid adoption of generative AI.
“Software teams cannot wait for an annual conference to modernize their stacks,” the organizers said. “In place of our in-person gathering, we are delivering immediate value by connecting builders directly with trusted practitioners solving production challenges every day.”
Founded in 2013, GOAB has built a community of startup founders, software engineers, investors, and technology advocates, with its activities centered on technical skills, entrepreneurship, and peer learning across Southeast Asia.
