Globe Business urges enterprises to adopt multi-layered continuity plans

Globe Business is encouraging Philippine enterprises to strengthen their business continuity plans by combining connectivity, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data recovery, and workforce communications instead of relying on a single backup system.
The enterprise arm of Globe said traditional business continuity plans have largely focused on redundant internet connections and data recovery. However, disruptions may also affect employee communications, operational coordination, and an organization’s ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
“Business continuity today is about ensuring organizations can continue operating and communicating during disruptions,” said Marlon Cruz, Globe Business Assistant Vice President. “Many companies have already strengthened their cloud and cybersecurity capabilities, but maintaining connectivity when local infrastructure is affected remains a challenge.”
To provide organizations with another connectivity option, Globe Business has included Globe Starlink in its enterprise resilience portfolio.
According to the company, the satellite-powered service may support communications when terrestrial networks are temporarily affected by natural disasters, power interruptions, or localized infrastructure problems.
Globe Business said compatible LTE smartphones may connect to available satellite coverage when terrestrial mobile services are unavailable, reducing the need for employees to carry specialized satellite communication devices.
The capability may be useful for personnel working in remote locations and areas affected by network disruptions, where access to business-critical communications is necessary for coordinating operations.
For logistics and supply chain companies, additional connectivity options may help organizations communicate with drivers, warehouses, field personnel, and command centers during severe weather conditions or network outages.
Financial institutions may also use communication redundancy to keep key personnel connected during localized disruptions, allowing them to coordinate responses, support customers, and make operational decisions.
Construction and real estate companies, meanwhile, often manage projects across remote or developing areas with limited connectivity. Satellite-enabled services may allow field teams to provide updates and coordinate work using compatible devices already available to them.
Globe Business said business resilience is increasingly becoming an enterprise-wide concern that goes beyond data protection and disaster recovery.
The company added that organizations should consider how connectivity, cloud systems, cybersecurity tools, communications platforms, and workforce procedures work together to keep operations running during unexpected disruptions.
Through its enterprise information and communications technology portfolio, Globe Business said it aims to help companies establish multiple layers of operational resilience and reduce their dependence on traditional backup arrangements.
