KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Huawei unveiled the Pura 90s Series as the centerpiece of its Flagship Product Global Launch Event, introducing major imaging upgrades alongside the new Huawei MatePad Air.
The Pura 90s Series features a refreshed design and an upgraded camera system led by a 200-megapixel Ultra Large Sensor Telephoto Camera. It also comes with an Ultra Lighting HDR Camera and a second-generation True-to-Colour Camera.
Huawei said the imaging system is designed to capture clearer photos and videos across different distances and lighting conditions, including landscapes, close-up details, backlit portraits, and nighttime scenes.
The smartphone series follows Huawei’s Rhythm of Colour design philosophy, combining clean lines, layered color options, and an industry-first dual-tone gradient mid-frame.
Huawei also introduced several artificial intelligence-powered photography and editing features.
AI Composition provides framing and composition suggestions, while AI Move allows users to reposition and resize objects in photos. AI De-Glare reduces reflections, AI Best Expression selects better facial expressions in group shots, and AI Remove erases unwanted objects from images.
Also introduced during the global launch was the Huawei MatePad Air, a tablet designed for productivity, learning, content creation, and entertainment.
The device has a slim 5.3-millimeter profile and features an Ultra-clear OLED PaperMatte Display. Huawei said it also offers PC-level productivity capabilities and integrated AI tools to support content creation and everyday work.
Huawei said the Pura 90s Series will arrive in the Philippines in August, while the MatePad Air is also expected to enter the local market soon.
Local pricing, model variants, and exact availability have yet to be announced.
