DICT invites public to test improved eGovAI ahead of major upgrade next week

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is inviting technology professionals, developers and eGovPH users to test an improved version of eGovAI after the agency strengthened its guardrails and addressed concerns raised during its initial rollout.

DICT Undersecretary for eGovernment David Almirol Jr. said that public feedback has already resulted in improvements to the government’s artificial intelligence platform, while another upgraded version is scheduled for release next week.

“We would like to invite everyone to try and test the eGovAI inside the eGovPH app. Thanks to your valuable feedback, we have integrated stronger guardrails and resolved previous system concerns,” Almirol said.

He also encouraged users to test Identity AI, Agriculture AI, Tourism AI, eTrabaho AI and Document AI and submit comments, findings and recommendations.

The call for testing comes a week after the DICT officially launched eGovAI as part of the eGovPH SuperApp. The platform brings several AI-powered tools into the government’s digital services ecosystem.

Almirol said the agency is also preparing an eGovAI portal that will allow developers to access the platform’s underlying technology and build additional solutions.

“The eGovAI portal is next! Developers can finally see the engine behind our eGovAI, build more solutions with us,” Almirol said.

The eGovAI platform currently includes an AI assistant and tools for translation, document extraction, identity verification and other government-related applications. Its official portal also allows approved government agencies to build AI engines using agency documents, services and defined guardrails.
