LG’s new washer targets the realities of family laundry

For households that regularly deal with overflowing hampers, bulky linens, school uniforms, work clothes, and delicate fabrics, LG Electronics Philippines has introduced a 19-kilogram top-load washer designed to reduce the time and effort involved in doing laundry.

The LG TX2519ST5J can accommodate larger loads, allowing families to wash more clothes in fewer batches. This could be particularly useful for bigger households or people who prefer to complete a week’s laundry in one session.

Instead of applying the same washing action to every load, the washer’s AI Wash system adjusts its washing and rinsing motions based on the laundry type and how soiled the clothes are. Its 6 Motion technology uses six washing movements intended to clean everyday garments while providing appropriate care for different fabrics.

“Households need a washer that can confidently handle bigger loads without treating every fabric the same way,” said Changhee Doh, Home Solutions product director at LG Electronics Philippines.

The machine also addresses one of laundry’s most repetitive steps through its ezDispense system. Users can fill the dispenser with detergent and fabric softener in advance, after which the washer automatically releases the required amount for each cycle. LG said it can store enough cleaning solution for up to 15 loads.

Loading and unloading were also considered in the washer’s design. Its controls are positioned at the rear, away from the opening, while the angled EasyUnload front is intended to make it more comfortable for users to reach clothes at the bottom of the drum.

For families washing frequently used clothing, bedding, or other fabrics exposed to dust and allergens, the Steam Allergy Care cycle uses steam to help remove stains and allergens.

The washer can also connect to LG ThinQ, giving users access to supported smart functions from a connected device. This may help people monitor and manage laundry while attending to work, childcare, cooking, or other household responsibilities.

With its large capacity and automated features, LG’s latest washer is positioned less as another connected appliance and more as a tool for making a familiar household chore easier to manage.
