Filipinos can now check suspicious phone numbers and website links directly on the web through Truecaller’s new Scam Checker without creating an account.
The service is accessible at truecaller.com/scam-checker, where users can enter a phone number or paste a suspicious web link to see whether Truecaller classifies it as Safe or Potential Fraud. The feature is also listed on Truecaller’s Philippines-localized website.
Truecaller said Scam Checker is free for everyone, including people who do not have a Truecaller account. It can check phone numbers, URLs and common scam types using information from the company’s global scam database and reports from its user community.
For Filipinos who receive suspicious calls, text messages or links through SMS, messaging apps, email or social media, the process is straightforward: go to truecaller.com/scam-checker, type or paste the unfamiliar phone number or suspicious link into the search field and check the result before responding, clicking or making a transaction.
Users can view whether the number or URL has been tagged as safe or potentially fraudulent without logging in. Truecaller may also surface related reports or posts from users who encountered similar numbers, websites or scam methods.
More detailed information about a phone number, including the name associated with it, still requires access to Truecaller’s regular phone lookup service or app.
For suspicious web links, Truecaller also operates a dedicated URL checker at truecaller.com/link-checker-tool. Users can paste a link before opening it, and the service analyzes community fraud reports, known phishing and scam databases and other domain signals.
The URL checker can show whether a website is considered safe, suspicious or fraudulent and may provide information on redirects, the final destination of the link, domain ownership and registration details.
The web-based setup gives Philippine users another way to verify unfamiliar numbers and links, particularly when receiving unexpected bank messages, delivery notices, job offers, investment pitches or other communications commonly used in scams.
Truecaller’s Scam Checker is already available through its website, although the company has not announced a separate formal Philippine launch.
