Globe boosts digital learning, cyber safety for students in Taguig

• Globe Coop continues to support holistic learning through its Back-to- School Program, providing students at Kapt. H Francisco School with school kits, improved digital access, and cyber safety workshops.

Globe Coop has rolled out its Back-to-School Program at Kapt. H Francisco School in Taguig, combining learning support, digital access, and cyber safety education for 100 students.

The initiative was carried out under the Globe CoopCAREavan, an employee-led outreach program that brings localized support to communities nationwide. Through the program, students received school bags filled with essential supplies and lunch kits, helping them begin the school year better prepared.

Beyond school materials, Globe Coop also upgraded the school’s computer laboratory, expanding access to digital tools and online learning resources. The upgrade supports blended learning and helps students develop essential digital skills at an early stage.

A major focus of the program was cyber safety, delivered through the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) workshops. The sessions tackled cyberbullying, responsible online behavior, and basic digital security, giving students practical guidance on how to stay safe and respectful in online spaces.

“Education today goes beyond books and classrooms. By equipping students with both the tools and the knowledge to use them responsibly, we help them thrive academically and digitally,” said Bam de Guzman, business head of Globe Coop. He added that the initiative reflects Globe’s broader commitment to holistic student development.

School principal Joventino P. Bajar said the support has had an immediate impact on learners. He noted that the combination of school supplies, improved digital facilities, and cyber safety workshops has strengthened students’ confidence both inside the classroom and online.

By integrating traditional learning support with digital literacy and online safety education, Globe Coop’s Back-to-School Program highlights the growing importance of preparing students for both academic life and the digital world.
