Tech billionaire Elon Musk has officially launched Grokipedia, a new online encyclopedia developed by his artificial-intelligence company xAI.

In a post on X, Musk announced that the platform is now live, calling it “Version 0.1” and adding that “Version 1.0 will be 10× better.”

Earlier this month, Musk teased the project, saying that xAI was building Grokipedia as “a massive improvement over Wikipedia.”

Musk praised his team for the early version and described the goal as building “an open-source, comprehensive collection of all knowledge.”

Musk has repeatedly criticized Wikipedia for being filled with “propaganda,” and has urged users not to donate to the nonprofit that runs it.

In September 2025, he confirmed that his xAI team was developing Grokipedia as part of its broader knowledge-generation initiative.

The Grokipedia site itself features a minimalist interface — mostly a search bar where users can type in queries — and reportedly lists around 885,000 articles.

Meanwhile, Wikipedia currently hosts over seven million English-language articles.
