Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) has officially launched its new School Management Information System (SMIS), developed by YouCode Technologies Corporation, marking a significant step toward digital transformation in public education.

The grand launch, held on campus in Cagayan de Oro City, was led by Principal Melende Catid alongside Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Edilberto L. Oplenaria and SPTA Chairman Dr. Bernalyn B. Waggoner, DVM, in partnership with YouCode Technologies.

The YouGuard SMIS platform integrates student enrollment, attendance, grading, and campus security into one centralized digital system. A key feature includes facial recognition and RFID access, allowing students and teachers to enter through turnstiles using their ID cards or face scans — automating attendance and enhancing safety.

“This is not just a system, it’s a vision for a smarter, safer, and more efficient school environment,” said Ronel Boholano, Chief Technology Officer of YouCode Technologies. “We are proud to be among the first public schools in Region 10 to embrace this level of technological advancement.”

The launch was attended by local government officials, DepEd representatives, parents, faculty members, and students. Representatives from YouCode demonstrated how the system streamlines school operations and promotes better communication between teachers, students, and parents.

Principal Catid said the system “will make data-driven decision-making possible and ensure accountability at every level of our institution.”

With SMIS now operational, MOGCHS expects faster access to information, reduced paperwork, and improved coordination between departments. The event concluded with a live demonstration, ribbon-cutting, and signing of a Memorandum of Partnership.

By embracing the SMIS, MOGCHS continues its legacy as one of Northern Mindanao’s pioneering public schools — blending its rich history with innovation and proving that even century-old institutions can thrive in the digital era.
