What makes a Filipino consumer choose one product over another? Is it the price, convenience, personal needs, or simply a message that connects with their everyday life?
For businesses trying to reach Filipino audiences, knowing who their customers are may no longer be enough. Understanding what influences their decisions is becoming just as important.
This is where AdSpark is turning to artificial intelligence (AI), using technology to help brands understand consumer behavior and develop advertising campaigns that better reflect the needs and priorities of Filipinos.
Understanding people beyond clicks and data
Digital platforms allow businesses to track consumer activity and identify their target audiences. However, knowing someone's online behavior does not necessarily explain why they make certain decisions.
Two consumers with similar profiles may respond differently to the same advertisement because of their personal responsibilities, preferences, or priorities.
AdSpark aims to address this gap by combining behavioral data, local market insights, and AI-powered technology to help brands understand what motivates Filipino consumers.
Can AI predict how consumers will respond?
At the center of AdSpark's approach is its partnership with Predikta, an AI-powered behavioral simulation platform developed by Netopia AI.
Integrated into AdSpark's marketing and advertising technology (MADTECH) capabilities, the platform uses AI to simulate how audiences might respond to different advertising messages.
Instead of relying solely on campaign results after advertisements have been launched, brands can use these simulations to evaluate potential approaches before committing their advertising budgets.
Before formalizing the partnership, AdSpark back-tested 200 campaigns by comparing AI-generated behavioral simulations with actual campaign results.
The exercise assessed whether the technology could help marketers identify promising advertising approaches before launching their campaigns.
Moving from knowing people to understanding decisions
AdSpark President and CEO Jose Manuel “Manny” Fernando highlighted the importance of understanding consumer motivations during his plenary presentation, “From Knowing People to Moving People: The Filipino Intelligence Advantage,” at DigiCon 2026.
“When we connect that intelligence with behavioral simulation, creative thinking, and media expertise, we move beyond simply identifying who to reach. We can begin exploring how people might respond, and use those insights to make better decisions about how we engage them,” Fernando said.
His presentation emphasized that understanding Filipino consumers requires more than collecting information about their digital activities.
It also involves recognizing the local experiences, needs, and priorities that influence how people respond to advertising.
Connecting AI with human understanding
Fernando also emphasized the importance of connecting consumer data, creative development, and media planning rather than treating them as separate activities.
“The opportunity is not simply to collect more data or add another tool. It's to connect what we know, what we can learn, and what we do with it,” he added.
The approach aligns with DigiCon 2026's theme of interoperability, highlighting how different technologies and marketing capabilities can work together.
