DICT Secretary Aguda focuses on department work amid resignation reports

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda said he remains focused on his duties and ensuring the continuity of the departmentβs work amid reports of his resignation.
In a statement, DICT Secretary Aguda acknowledged reports circulating about his position but did not directly confirm or deny the resignation reports.
βI am aware of the reports circulating regarding my position as Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT),β Aguda said.
Aguda said he remains focused on carrying out his responsibilities, particularly as the Philippines hosts ASEAN this year.
βAt this time, I remain focused on carrying out my responsibilities and ensuring the continuity of the Departmentβs work,β Aguda said.
He stressed the importance of DICT continuing to fulfill its role in advancing regional engagements on technology and innovation, including the ASEAN AI MSME event this week.

DICT Secretary Aguda also acknowledged that he serves at the pleasure of the President and recognized the Presidentβs prerogative on matters involving the Cabinet and the administration.
βAs Secretary of DICT, I serve at the pleasure of the President, and I fully recognize and respect the Presidentβs prerogative in matters concerning his Cabinet and his administration,β Aguda said.
βMy focus remains on carrying out my responsibilities and serving the Filipino people to the best of my ability,β he added.
