DICT launches eGov AI in eGovPH SuperApp

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Monday, Sept. 21, officially launched eGov AI, bringing artificial intelligence-powered tools into the eGovPH SuperApp to expand the use of AI across government digital services.

Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos, representing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., led the ceremonial launch at the Manila Hotel, held alongside the eGovPH Hackathon 2026 awarding ceremony.

Reading the President’s message, Abalos said the government sees AI as a tool for improving public services while expanding Filipinos’ access to emerging technologies.

“The government must be ready to make these technologies work for the Filipino people. This is the purpose behind the launch of EgovAI in the eGovPH super app,” Abalos said.

He said the technology should remain anchored on accountability, security and public service as the government expands its use.

“Every technology we introduce must ultimately serve public interest. Let us give Filipinos greater access to the tools they need to learn, participate, and prosper,” Abalos said.

“Always remember that technology should sharpen our judgment, not replace it. Let us use AI as a tool to make well-informed decisions without surrendering our own capacity to question, discern and decide,” he added.

DICT Undersecretary for eGovernment David Almirol Jr., meanwhile, presented the AI-powered services integrated into the eGov ecosystem, including eTrabaho AI, eTourism AI, eAgri AI, eHealth AI, Document Extractor AI and AI Assistance.

For eTrabaho, Almirol said AI can extract information from a user’s résumé, generate templates and support a job-matching system that searches for employers based on a person’s target position.

“You can build your resume, picturan mo lang yung resume mo. The AI will be the one to extract that, and create multiple templates, then you can send to your employers,” Almirol said.

Other services include eTourism AI for travel recommendations and itineraries, eAgri AI for agriculture-related information, and eHealth AI, which is being developed in partnership with the Department of Health.

DICT also introduced Document AI, which can process uploaded documents, PDFs, images and graphs and generate summaries and analyses.

“I-upload mo lang yung document, siya na yung mag-analyze, siya na yung gagawa ng mga summary, pati po yung mga graphs and analysis, siya na yung bahala,” Almirol said.

Almirol said developers can also access eGov AI’s application programming interfaces (APIs) to develop their own websites, bots, AI agents and other systems.

He said eGovPH has reached 65 million downloads and 61 million unique users, representing around 75 percent of the country’s adult population.

DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said the launch marks another step in the government’s effort to consolidate and simplify access to public services through the eGovPH SuperApp.

“Today, we celebrate more than the launch of a new technology. We celebrate another step toward making government services simpler and more accessible to Filipino people,” Aguda said.

Aguda said the integration of AI is intended to make interactions with government platforms easier and services more responsive.

“We are using artificial intelligence to simplify interactions to better understand citizens needs and to make public services more responsive,” he said.

He also stressed the need to build safeguards alongside the government’s adoption of artificial intelligence.

“Privacy and security must be protected, accessibility and accountability must remain part of the process, and public trust must always be earned,” Aguda said.

DICT Assistant Secretary Maria Victoria Castro said eGov AI is intended to bring AI capabilities closer to Filipinos through a government platform they can directly access.

“First is the launching of the eGov AI, bringing the potential of artificial intelligence closer to our citizens through the eGov PH SuperApp,” Castro said.

“It represents our continuing efforts to make government service more accessible, responsive, and convenient for every Filipino,” she added.

Castro said the launch, together with the eGovPH Hackathon 2026, reflects a broader effort to use technology and Filipino-developed solutions to improve public services.

“Technology is ultimately a means to a greater end. To build a government that works better for the people and a Philippines where innovation creates opportunities for everyone,” Castro said.
