Converge blocked nearly 12 billion harmful website requests in 2025

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. said it denied nearly 12 billion attempts to access websites hosting dangerous, inappropriate, and harmful content in 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen online safety, particularly for children.

The fiber broadband and technology provider also blacklisted more than 72,000 domains and web addresses linked to prohibited content during the same period.

Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the company maintains a firm stance against dangerous and illicit online content, particularly materials that could harm children.

“We have always taken a hard line position against dangerous and illicit content that harms the most vulnerable in our society, especially our children,” Uy said.

Uy said Converge continues to invest in measures aimed at defending its network and customers from harmful online content and cyber threats.

The company said it also coordinates with government agencies, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), and Philippine National Police (PNP).

Converge also works with international organizations such as the Internet Watch Foundation in efforts to prevent illicit online activities, including the spread of content depicting extreme violence.

The company said it follows due process when blocking harmful websites in accordance with its Human Rights Policy.

Converge also implements a Child Online Safeguarding Policy aimed at promoting a safer internet experience for children who may be vulnerable to cyber threats, online exploitation, and violence.

Uy said the company will continue working with the government and the industry to help make the internet safer for users.
