Check weather alerts in one tap with PAGASA’s PANaHON mobile app
- PAGASA, PANaHON
Filipinos can now check weather updates, alerts, and advisories in one tap through the new PANaHON mobile app launched by DOST-PAGASA.
The PAGASA National Hydro-Meteorological Observing Network Mobile Application, or PANaHON mobile app, allows users to monitor near real-time weather data, receive alerts for their selected locations, and check forecasts directly from their mobile phones.
Through the app, users can access tropical cyclone bulletins, thunderstorm and heavy rainfall warnings, and flood advisories. It also features an interactive map that shows hydrometeorological information from PAGASA’s observing network.
The app’s location feature allows users to receive alerts that are relevant to areas they are monitoring. Users can also pin locations and check hourly forecasts and a five-day weather outlook, helping them plan travel, work, school activities, and emergency preparations ahead of time.
DOST-PAGASA formally launched the PANaHON mobile app as the country observes Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week from June 14 to 20, 2026.
The annual observance is mandated under Presidential Proclamation No. 1535, series of 2008, and aims to raise public awareness on the impact of tropical cyclones, floods, and other weather-related hazards.
This year’s theme, “Bagyo, Baha, Maghanda Tayo!”, highlights the need for science-based preparedness, early warning systems, and community action to reduce disaster risks amid changing climate conditions.
As part of the observance, DOST-PAGASA will conduct activities such as Kapit-Kaalaman Conversations: Sharing Typhoon and Flood Risk Awareness, the MAAGAP Seminar on community-based typhoon and flood preparedness, and social media information campaigns.
DOST-PAGASA said preparedness remains a shared responsibility among government agencies, local communities, institutions, and citizens, especially as the Philippines continues to face risks from typhoons, flooding, and other extreme weather events.
The agency said it will continue to provide timely weather and climate advisories, public awareness initiatives, and digital tools that help protect lives, livelihoods, and properties.
The public is encouraged to follow DOST-PAGASA’s official social media channels and visit its website for updates and official advisories.
