Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli made Formula 1 history after becoming the youngest driver to win the Monaco Grand Prix, bringing Mercedes back to the top of Monte Carlo for the first time in seven years.
Antonelli controlled the race from the front and crossed the line in 2:23:31.243, finishing ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Racing’s Isack Hadjar to seal a breakthrough victory on one of Formula 1’s most demanding street circuits.
The result marked a major moment for Mercedes, which last won in Monaco in 2019 with Hamilton. This time, Hamilton finished second for Ferrari, while Hadjar completed the podium for Red Bull Racing.
Oscar Piastri finished fourth for McLaren, followed by Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad. Pierre Gasly secured seventh for Alpine despite receiving two five-second penalties for speeding in the pit lane, while Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon, and Fernando Alonso completed the points finishers.
The race also saw several drivers fail to finish, including reigning world champion Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Lance Stroll, Oliver Bearman, Valtteri Bottas, and Max Verstappen.
For Antonelli, the victory adds another milestone to his young career and gives Mercedes a strong statement win at a circuit where track position, precision, and composure remain crucial.
The Monaco triumph also marks his fifth consecutive victory of the 2026 season, further strengthening his growing reputation as one of Formula 1’s brightest young stars.
With Monaco now behind them, the result could give Mercedes renewed momentum as the 2026 Formula 1 season continues.
