VITRO Inc., the data center arm of the PLDT Group under PLDT Enterprise, has expanded its partnership with 8990 Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to support the real estate firm’s growing IT infrastructure requirements, reinforcing system reliability and business continuity across its nationwide operations.
The move comes as 8990 HDC, a major subsidiary of 8990 Holdings Inc. and the developer behind Deca Homes and Urban Deca Homes, continues to scale its footprint across the Philippines. With expansion comes increased reliance on digital systems, making uninterrupted access to critical platforms a key operational priority.
Since 2019, 8990 HDC has hosted its real estate enterprise resource planning (ERP) and document management systems at VITRO Cebu. In 2025, the company extended its deployment to VITRO Makati 2, strengthening its business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) capabilities. This dual-site setup allows all sales offices nationwide to connect directly to centralized systems, enabling real-time data access and high system availability.
The resilience of this infrastructure was tested during major disruptions, including Typhoon Odette and a series of earthquakes that affected parts of the Visayas and Mindanao in 2025. Despite these events, 8990 HDC’s systems remained operational, underscoring the role of colocation and distributed infrastructure in maintaining service continuity.
“For the past seven years, VITRO has consistently delivered excellent service, and we see this partnership continuing for the long term. It wasn’t easy at first to convince management to invest in colocation, but after the recent calamities we have gone through, we can confidently say it was the right decision,” said Roan Torregoza, chief financial officer of 8990 Housing Development Corporation.
VITRO said the partnership reflects a broader trend among enterprises prioritizing uptime and resilience as digital transformation accelerates. The company continues to position its facilities as platforms for mission-critical workloads that require high availability, redundancy, and physical security.
“At VITRO, our commitment goes beyond providing space—we ensure that our clients’ systems remain secure, available, and continuously running, even in the face of unforeseen disruptions. Our partnership with 8990 Housing Development Corporation reflects our promise to deliver resilient, always-on infrastructure that our clients can depend on, no matter the circumstance,” said Gary F. Ignacio, chief commercial officer of VITRO Inc.
PLDT Enterprise added that the collaboration goes beyond colocation, integrating connectivity and enterprise solutions to support long-term growth.
“Our role in PLDT Enterprise is not just to provide colocation, but to enable our clients’ growth journeys. By delivering an integrated ecosystem, from data center services to connectivity and wireless solutions, we ensure that companies like 8990 HDC are fully equipped with the digital foundation they need to scale, innovate, and build more homes for Filipinos,” said Jay Lagdameo, vice president and head of Domestic Enterprise Business, Regional and Commercial, PLDT Enterprise.
The expanded partnership highlights how data center infrastructure is becoming a critical backbone not only for technology firms but also for industries such as real estate, where operational continuity, data accessibility, and system uptime directly impact business performance and customer service.
