Globe puts people at the center of AI push at Digital Nation Summit 2025

Globe joined leaders from across Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur for the Digital Nation Summit 2025, an event organized by GSMA Asia Pacific that examined how artificial intelligence, data, and digital ecosystems can shape sustainable and inclusive development in the region.

The gathering brought together government officials, telecom executives, and innovators aligned toward a shared vision: a digital-first ASEAN built on trust, collaboration, and responsible technology.

Representing Globe was Anton Bonifacio, the company’s Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and Chief Information Security Officer. In his keynote,

“Building an AI-Powered Globe: How Internal AI Transformation Drives Ecosystem Value,” Bonifacio detailed how Globe’s journey to becoming an AI-powered organization begins from within.

He emphasized that the company’s transformation is anchored on strong foundations—dynamic architecture, agile builders, ethical governance, and a culture that empowers people.

Bonifacio underscored Globe’s deliberate, sustainable, and human-centered approach to AI.

“Our campaign at Globe is simple: you have to be safe to innovate,” he said. “We want to give every employee, from developers to frontliners, the tools and freedom to solve real problems through AI.”

He likened Globe’s unified AI framework to a “shared kitchen,” where common tools, platforms, and guardrails allow teams to build their own solutions without losing coherence.

“Businesses are hungry,” he added. “Maybe they want Chinese food, maybe they want more product, or maybe they want steak. Imagine if we have to build a separate kitchen with separate components and separate appliances engaging different partners. We’re going to wake up in the same nightmare that we are in now where you’ve got vendor lock-in and overlapping technologies.”

His analogy illustrated the importance of shared, flexible infrastructure—one that fosters innovation without fragmenting the organization, reflecting Globe’s forward-looking AI strategy.

Beyond internal transformation, Bonifacio said Globe envisions AI as a platform for collaboration. The long-term goal is to enable customers, partners, and industries to co-create in the same “kitchen,” expanding innovation across ecosystems. This direction mirrors Globe’s broader belief that technology should enhance human capability, not replace it.

Globe’s participation at the Digital Nation Summit signals more than attendance—it reflects leadership in responsible AI in the region. The company’s AI Group focuses on both enterprise solutions and strategic long-term investments to ensure that innovation remains scalable, inclusive, and ethical.

As ASEAN moves closer to a truly digital-first future, Globe is positioning itself at the front of this transformation. By transforming internal capabilities into ecosystem value, the company continues to push for a smarter, safer, and more human digital future for the region.
