LG expands Fit & Max appliance lineup for space-conscious homes

LG Electronics is expanding its Fit & Max Solution beyond refrigerators to include washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, bringing its space-conscious design concept to more home appliance categories.

Built around the idea of “Fit Space, Max Life,” the lineup seeks to balance installation flexibility and streamlined design with capacity, energy efficiency, performance and convenience.

LG will showcase the expanded appliance range at IFA 2026, scheduled for September 4 to 8 at Messe Berlin in Germany.

The company said Fit Space focuses on helping appliances integrate more naturally into kitchens and laundry areas. Depending on the product, specialized hinges, door mechanisms and installation systems minimize gaps and protrusions.

Max Life, meanwhile, centers on maximizing the usable capacity and performance of each appliance without increasing its external footprint.

Refrigerators built for tighter spaces

LG’s Fit & Max refrigerators feature Zero Clearance installation, thin doors and flat exteriors, allowing the appliances to sit closer to walls and adjacent cabinetry.

Selected 36-inch VN3 refrigerator models, including swing- and drawer-type configurations, received recognition at the 2026 iF Design Award and Red Dot Award.

Inside, the refrigerators offer Dual FRESHConverter+ and Full Convert Drawer features, providing as many as three adjustable temperature zones for different types of food.

The appliances also feature AI Fresh, which studies household usage patterns over three weeks and adjusts cooling operations to help maintain more stable storage conditions.

Larger laundry capacity in the same footprint

LG is applying the Fit & Max concept to its washing, drying and garment-care products through slide-in installation and flat exterior designs.

The appliances are designed to align with surrounding cabinetry while reducing how far they extend into a room.

LG said an enhanced internal structure and direct-drive motor-based inverter control help reduce vibration and create room for larger drums without increasing the appliances’ external dimensions.

Compared with earlier LG models of the same size, selected Fit & Max washing machines offer up to three kilograms of additional capacity, depending on the model.

AI Wash and AI Dry can detect load characteristics and automatically adjust cycle settings, reducing the manual input required during washing and drying.

Flush-fit dishwashers enter the lineup

Fit & Max dishwashers feature a flush-fit design intended to maintain the continuous lines of kitchen cabinetry.

The dishwashers include a one-hour Wash & Dry setting and AI SenseClean, which detects the soil level of a load and adjusts cleaning operations accordingly.

Actual operating time may vary based on environmental conditions and any additional options selected by the user.

“Consumers should not have to choose between an appliance that fits their space and one that delivers the capacity and performance they need,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company.

“By extending this approach across more appliance categories, we aim to make it easier for consumers to choose products that fit naturally into their homes while delivering greater value in everyday life.”

LG will display the refrigerators, laundry appliances and dishwashers in a dedicated Fit & Max Solution zone at its IFA booth in Hall 18. The exhibit will recreate modern kitchen and laundry spaces to demonstrate how the appliances can integrate into different home environments.
