Huawei, in partnership with multi-sports facility Pretty Huge, brought together runners, fitness enthusiasts, creators, and campus ambassadors for the Huawei Fit Fest in Manila on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The community fitness event featured a 3-kilometer and 5-kilometer run, guided stretching and recovery sessions, and a high-intensity fitness challenge.
Participants also tested Huawei’s latest wearable and audio devices, including the Huawei FreeClip 2, Huawei Band 11, Huawei Band 11 Pro, Huawei Watch Fit 5, Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, and Huawei Watch GT 6 Series.
The devices were used to track workout performance, heart rate, pace, distance, recovery, and other health and fitness indicators throughout the event.
Huawei Fit Fest participant Jacob Evan Caballa said the devices allowed him to monitor his activities while remaining comfortable during intense exercises.
“The HUAWEI Wearable devices made me feel excited and inspired to join the Fit Fest experience as it allowed me to track my activity through the watch. What made the most impact for me are its comfortability and reliability,” Caballa said.
“As someone who does physical activities daily, I find importance in how these Wearables can support me and make me feel comfortable even during intense activities,” he added.
Participant Aliah Venice Garcia said the Huawei Watch Fit 5 remained comfortable and secure during the activities.
“The WATCH FIT was incredibly light and comfortable on my wrist, so I barely noticed I was wearing it. It felt so secure, I was able to focus more on what I was doing instead of thinking about my gear,” Garcia said.
The Huawei FreeClip 2 supported participants during the different workout stages through its open-ear audio design, which allowed users to listen to music and audio cues while remaining aware of their surroundings.
The earbuds feature Huawei’s Airy C-Bridge design, liquid silicone materials, shape-memory alloy, IP57 water resistance, gesture controls, dual-device connectivity, and up to 38 hours of battery life with the charging case.
Meanwhile, the Huawei Band 11 and Band 11 Pro were used to monitor running pace, distance, heart rate, and recovery. The Band 11 Pro also has built-in GPS, allowing users to record outdoor runs without carrying a smartphone.
Participants used the Huawei Watch Fit 5 during running, rowing, and strength-focused exercises. The smartwatch includes multiple sports modes, GPS tracking, performance metrics, and health monitoring features.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Series offers running-form analysis, sports and health tracking, outdoor training features, and up to 21 days of battery life.
Huawei also showcased the Watch GT Runner 2, which is designed for runners and marathon athletes. The device includes GPS tracking, real-time pace guidance, lactate-threshold data, race performance predictions, and post-run analysis.
Workout data from the devices can also be synchronized with Strava through iOS and Android smartphones.
Huawei Fit Fest attendee Leira said the devices’ satellite tracking capabilities helped provide more accurate outdoor workout data without requiring users to carry a phone.
“The built-in GNSS tracking is the feature that made the biggest impact in my experience. It made outdoor runs precise without needing to carry a smartphone,” Leira said.
Huawei and Pretty Huge said the event aimed to demonstrate how wearable technology could support Filipinos pursuing active lifestyles by helping them monitor their progress and better understand their physical performance.
