Union Bank of the Philippines is removing fees for person-to-person InstaPay transfers made through UnionBank Online starting July 7, adding another zero-fee service to its digital banking platform.
In an advisory posted on its official Facebook page, UnionBank said it is “unlocking the newest ZERO FEE” in its series of waived service fees under UB Online.
The bank’s announcement showed that InstaPay person-to-person transfers will carry a ₱0 fee beginning July 7. It will join other UnionBank Online services already listed as free, including PESONet transfers, UnionBank-to-UnionBank transfers, bills payments, telco load purchases, and in-store payments via QRPh.
“Beginning July 7, another ZERO FEE awaits U in UnionBank Online,” the bank said.
The move comes as banks and digital financial platforms continue to adjust transfer charges amid growing consumer demand for cheaper online transactions.
InstaPay is commonly used for real-time fund transfers to other banks and e-wallets, making transfer fees a recurring cost for many users who rely on mobile banking for daily payments.
UnionBank advised customers to check its UnionBank Online page for more details on its zero-fee services. The bank also reminded users to raise concerns through the UnionBank Online app or its customer service hotline.
