TechWatch Philippines Inc. has announced that veteran technology journalist and digital transformation advocate Art Samaniego has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Samaniego is one of the country’s most respected technology journalists, with more than three decades of experience covering information technology, telecommunications, cybersecurity, innovation, and digital transformation. He is widely recognized for helping bring technology issues closer to ordinary Filipinos through credible, accessible, and independent journalism.
Prior to assuming the CEO post, Samaniego served as editor of the Technology Section of Manila Bulletin, where he helped build one of the country’s most recognized technology news platforms.
He currently heads the Manila Bulletin IT Department and serves as Editor-in-Tech of TechWatch PH, leading the platform’s editorial direction and coverage of technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, innovation, and emerging trends. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible technology adoption.
He is also a co-founder of Scam Watch Pilipinas, a citizen-led advocacy movement focused on combating online scams, cybercrime, and digital fraud through public education, behavioral change campaigns, and cross-sector collaboration.
TechWatch Philippines Inc. Chairman and ePublisher Jocel de Guzman said Samaniego’s assumption of the CEO role comes at a crucial time as technology continues to reshape industries, governance, and everyday life.
“Art has long been a respected and trusted voice in Philippine technology journalism. His experience, credibility, and commitment to making technology understandable to Filipinos perfectly align with the mission of TechWatch Philippines,” de Guzman said.
“As we continue to expand our reach and strengthen our role in technology journalism, we believe his leadership will help advance responsible, forward-looking, and community-driven reporting that empowers Filipinos in the digital age,” he added.
Samaniego said he remains committed to strengthening independent technology journalism and helping more Filipinos navigate an increasingly digital world.
“Technology now touches nearly every aspect of our lives, from education and business to cybersecurity and government services. Through TechWatch PH, we want to help make technology more understandable, accessible, and relevant to every Filipino,” Samaniego said.
“We will continue promoting credible, responsible, and forward-looking journalism that supports digital awareness, innovation, and informed public discourse,” he added.
TechWatch Philippines Inc. is part of the Truth360 Group, which also includes Truth360 Inc., a strategic communications and reputation management firm, and Scam Watch Pilipinas, one of the country’s leading citizen-powered anti-scam advocacy movements. Together, the organizations promote responsible communication, digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, technology education, and public empowerment in the digital age.
Founded as an independent technology media platform, TechWatch PH focuses on technology, cybersecurity, digital defense, innovation, emerging technologies, and the rapidly evolving digital landscape shaping the Philippines.
The platform aims to bridge the gap between technology experts and the public by delivering relevant news, insights, and analysis that help Filipinos better understand the opportunities and challenges of the digital era.
Under Samaniego’s leadership, TechWatch Philippines Inc. said it will continue its mission of democratizing technology knowledge while supporting the country’s ongoing digital transformation through credible and impactful journalism.
