eGovPH expands services, hits 36 million downloads
- Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary David Almirol Jr, eGov PH
The eGov Super App PH continues to expand its role as a central gateway for public services, with new integrations now allowing users to access Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and the Yakap programs, including options for financial and medical support.
Speaking at Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon on Tuesday, February 10 Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., said the platform has also deepened its integration with local governments nationwide.
“Sa ating local government integration naman, mahigit isang libong LGUs na po ang naka-integrate sa ating app para sa application ng business permit, sanitary permit, construction permit,” Almirol said, noting that users can now transact with participating LGUs directly through the app.
(In terms of our local government integration, more than a thousand LGUs have already been integrated into our app for the application of business permits, sanitary permits, and construction permits.)
Almirol said several key digital features are already live, including eGovAI, which is available to users for free, and eGovDocs, which enables paperless signing of government documents. These additions are designed to reduce in-person transactions and repetitive paperwork across agencies.
Almirol also underscored the role of the digital national ID in strengthening the platform’s security and automation.
“Nasa 90 million na rin po ang digital national ID natin, at dahil diyan, na automate na ang eGov app para wala na yung pekeng users natin,” he said.
(Our digital national ID has also reached around 90 million, and because of this, the eGov app has been automated to eliminate fake users.)
Looking ahead, DICT plans to roll out a feature that will allow users to access their diplomas, transcripts of records, and other government-issued certificates and clearances through the app.
According to Almirol, eGovPH has already reached 36 million downloads, surpassing the government’s initial target of 30 million by 2028.
The new targets are 40 million downloads within the year and 60 million users by 2028.
Almirol said the platform is meant to address long-standing issues of congestion and redundancy in government offices. “Kung maalala nyo, sangkatutak ang pila sa government agencies, pareho ang documents, kaysa sa ilang beses ka pipila, sa bahay ka na lang,” he said.
He added that the system has been designed so users only need to enter their personal information once, with the data shared securely across participating agencies.
“Dapat 90 million na ang hindi pumipila para mag-submit ng same documents, biometrics, and the like,” Almirol said.
(By now, 90 million people should no longer be lining up to submit the same documents, biometrics, and the like.)
As usage grows, Almirol urged the public to remain vigilant against fake websites posing as the official eGovPH platform and to access government services only through the legitimate app.
Positioned as a one-stop shop for public services at both national and local levels, eGovPH consolidates government transactions into a single mobile application.
