The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is strengthening its commitment to secure digital banking as it expands access to its digital wallet, VYBE, through a partnership with Pay&Go, allowing users to cash in for free at over 3,400 kiosks nationwide.

While the partnership supports BPI’s goal of reaching 2.5 million VYBE users by year-end, the bank emphasized that security remains its top priority as it continues to grow its digital ecosystem.

“In terms of security, our clients are confident using either platform. Over the years, we’ve seen that most BPI clients are already familiar with technology, but that doesn’t stop us from offering more services and choices,” said Frederic Faustino, BPI Head of Digital Partnerships and Ecosystems.

VYBE, BPI’s all-in-one digital wallet, allows users to send and receive money, pay bills, buy load, and scan QR Ph codes for cashless payments. Even without a BPI account, users can create a VYBE wallet to manage their finances, withdraw cash cardlessly, and earn rewards points from eligible transactions.

Pay&Go, on the other hand, is a self-service kiosk capable of accepting cash payments for bills, mobile top-ups, and e-money cash-ins, making it a convenient touchpoint for users who prefer cash-based transactions.

Faustino highlighted that BPI heavily invests in technology and infrastructure to safeguard its customers’ accounts and transactions across both wallets and deposit accounts.

“What I really want to highlight is that we always give our clients the freedom to choose—whether they prefer a wallet or a deposit account for their transactions. And when it comes to security, BPI always reminds clients that it’s a shared responsibility. It takes two to tango,” he added.

He stressed that while BPI ensures robust cybersecurity measures are in place, clients must also remain vigilant—practicing caution against phishing, fake links, and social engineering scams.

“The bank continues to invest in technology, but our clients also need to do their share by staying alert and informed,” he said.

Meanwhile, BPI Chief Technology Officer Alex Seminiano said that security and accessibility go hand in hand in building trust among users.

“True digital transformation means extending real value to the underserved while maintaining their trust. By making it easier—and free—to cash in to VYBE, we’re helping more Filipinos participate in the digital economy,” he said.

Through its strengthened digital infrastructure, BPI continues to ensure that VYBE remains a safe, convenient, and reliable platform—empowering Filipinos to transact confidently in the growing digital economy.
