LG expands premium RGB TV lineup with TÜV Rheinland-certified color technology
LG Electronics has expanded its premium RGB television lineup at IFA 2026 in Berlin, showcasing new Micro RGB evo and Mini RGB evo models designed to deliver higher color purity across large-screen LCD displays.
At the center of the lineup is the LG Micro RGB evo MRGB95, an ultra-large LCD TV powered by the company’s proprietary Micro RGB technology and α11 AI Processor Gen3.
The television, along with select Mini RGB evo models, has received TÜV Rheinland’s “High Purity RGB Spectrum Display” certification following an independent evaluation of its red, green and blue color performance.
LG said its RGB spectrum display technology is designed to improve the separation and purity of the three primary colors, allowing its TVs to reproduce colors with greater accuracy.
The certification covers the Micro RGB evo MRGB95 as well as the Mini RGB evo MRGB9M and MRGB85 models.
“The TÜV Rheinland certification confirms that LG’s Micro RGB evo has passed a rigorous evaluation of its capacity to deliver physically and optically high-purity colors by completely preventing the intermixing of RGB wavelengths,” TÜV Rheinland Regional Sales Manager of Products Europe Hüseyin Derman said.
AI processing moves beyond OLED
LG is also bringing its α11 AI Processor Gen3, previously associated with its flagship OLED TVs, to the Micro RGB evo lineup.
The processor uses a Dual AI Engine that analyzes texture and edges simultaneously to optimize images across movies, television shows and games.
Another feature, Precision Color Enhancer, is designed to preserve individual primary colors while controlling gradation and tonal transitions.
The Micro RGB evo also uses Micro Dimming Ultra, which manages brightness across thousands of dimming zones to improve details in both dark and bright portions of an image.
The combination reflects how television manufacturers are increasingly pairing advances in display hardware with AI-based image processing as they compete for consumers in the premium large-screen market.
Wider RGB lineup
LG is also expanding the technology to its Mini RGB evo models, giving consumers more screen and product options within its premium LCD portfolio.
The company said both Micro RGB evo and Mini RGB evo use its light-source technology to control red, green and blue output individually.
“LG Micro RGB evo brings together the exceptional color purity of our proprietary Micro RGB technology and the advanced intelligence of the α11 AI Processor Gen3 to deliver an ultra-large viewing experience like no other,” said Park Hyoungsei, president of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.
“Its independently validated, high-purity RGB color performance reflects our dedication to setting new standards in premium LCD picture quality. By completing our RGB display lineup with Mini RGB evo, we are proud to broaden the range of high-performance choices available to our customers,” he added.
The Micro RGB evo is being displayed at LG’s booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin during IFA 2026, which runs from Sept. 4 to 8.
