HUAWEI is expanding its smartphone lineup in the Philippines with the upcoming launch of the HUAWEI nova 15 Max, a midrange device that combines a large battery, expansive display, and durability-focused features for under PHP 20,000.

Set to launch on June 12, the HUAWEI nova 15 Max carries an introductory price of PHP 19,888, down from its suggested retail price of PHP 20,888.

The smartphone is headlined by an 8,500mAh battery, which HUAWEI says is the largest battery capacity ever featured on one of its smartphones. Paired with 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo and Advanced Energy Booster Technology, the company claims the device can deliver up to 48 hours of continuous calling, 25 hours of navigation, or 23 hours of video playback on a single charge. The phone also supports reverse charging, allowing it to power compatible devices.

HUAWEI nova 15 Max

For entertainment and productivity, the nova 15 Max features a 6.84-inch Vivid OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2,756 × 1,272 resolution, 4,000 nits peak brightness, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming designed to improve viewing comfort during extended use.

Audio is handled by symmetrical dual stereo speakers capable of producing up to 85dB output with a 90-degree ultra-wide sound field, aiming to provide clearer calls, media playback, and gaming experiences.

The device sports a 7.98mm slim profile while weighing 232 grams and will be available in Lake Cyan, Blush Gold, and Golden Black color options. HUAWEI said the phone has received SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance Premium certification and can withstand up to 100 kilograms of pressure. It also carries an IP65 rating for resistance against dust and water splashes and is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C.

Photography is powered by a 50-megapixel RYYB Ultra-Clear rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture, which uses an RYYB color filter array to improve light intake for low-light photography. An 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies and video calls.

The nova 15 Max also introduces AI Smart Control, a customizable shortcut button that provides quick access to frequently used applications such as GCash, Grab, and Angkas. Users can also assign the button to launch AI assistants including Google Gemini, DeepSeek, ChatGPT, or Dola through a double press, while a long press opens an app search function.

8500 mAh Super Battery

The HUAWEI nova 15 Max will be available through Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, the HUAWEI Online Store, and HUAWEI Experience Stores nationwide beginning June 12.

Early buyers will receive a two-year battery replacement service valued at PHP 2,999 and two stainless thermos tumblers worth PHP 1,499. HUAWEI is also offering early promotional discounts and vouchers through its online sales channels ahead of the official launch.
