BIR Digital TIN ID now available through eGovPH app
- BIR, DICT Usec. David Almirol, eGov PH
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has made the Digital TIN ID accessible through the eGovPH app, giving taxpayers another way to view their tax identification card through the government’s mobile ID wallet.
The feature, developed in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), allows users to access their TIN ID digitally, but only after system validation. The BIR said the digital ID will appear if the user’s eGovPH profile matches BIR records or if the taxpayer already has an existing Digital TIN ID in the BIR Online Registration and Update System (ORUS).
To use the feature, taxpayers must download the eGovPH app from Google Play or the App Store, create an account, enter their personal details, complete identity verification through facial recognition, log in using their registered mobile number or email address, enter the OTP and six-digit MPIN, then tap the “Digital ID” icon at the bottom menu.
The rollout expands the eGovPH app’s role as a central digital gateway for public services, as more government-issued IDs and records are being linked to mobile access.
BIR previously launched the Digital TIN ID in 2023 as part of efforts to curb fixers and scammers selling TIN-related services online. The agency reminded taxpayers that the Digital TIN ID is free and not for sale.
The eGovPH app serves as a centralized digital gateway for public services, integrating transactions from multiple agencies into a single platform. It includes features such as digital travel declarations, access to the digital national ID, local government services, document signing, and AI-assisted support.
The platform has reached 40 million downloads as of 2026 and is linked to millions of digital national ID records, making it a key access point for identity verification and government transactions.
