LG WashTower tops 3.2M global sales as AI-driven appliances gain traction

LG Electronics has surpassed 3.2 million units sold worldwide for its all-in-one laundry system, the LG WashTower, signaling sustained global demand for space-saving and energy-efficient home appliances.

First introduced in 2020, the WashTower is now available in 77 countries, with strong adoption across key regions. North America accounts for more than 1.6 million units sold, followed by Latin America with 160,000 units and Asia with 130,000 units, reflecting growing consumer preference for integrated, convenience-focused home solutions.

The WashTower combines a washer and dryer into a single vertical unit, designed to reduce space requirements while streamlining everyday laundry routines. At the core of the system are LG’s proprietary technologies, including Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD), which detects load weight, fabric type, and soil level to automatically select optimal wash settings, and the DUAL Inverter Heat Pump, which enables low-temperature drying to help protect fabrics.

Additional features such as AI Wash, Smart Pairing, and “Prepare to Dry” further automate the process by allowing the washer to communicate with the dryer and preheat it before a cycle ends, reducing overall laundry time.

“The LG WashTower leverages our proprietary core technologies and advanced AI to deliver a more convenient clothing-care experience to customers around the world,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of LG’s Home Appliance Solution Company.

LG said it will continue expanding its laundry lineup with new models, AI features, and design options to meet evolving consumer needs, as demand grows for appliances that combine performance, efficiency, and space optimization.

The milestone highlights a broader shift in the appliance market, where integrated systems and AI-driven automation are becoming key differentiators as households look for smarter and more efficient ways to manage daily tasks.
