Concerns have emerged over the misuse of Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, after digitally altered images of women and minors were found circulating on X (formerly Twitter) despite the platform’s stated policies against such content.
According to reports, the issue surfaced following a December update to Grok that expanded its image-editing capabilities, allowing users to upload photographs and request alterations.
While the tool reportedly does not permit full nudity, it can generate images depicting individuals in revealing clothing or suggestive poses, raising concerns about consent and safety.
It added that several public figures and private individuals expressed concern after discovering altered images linked to the tool.
Initially, Musk appeared to react lightly to some AI-generated images circulating online, but reports said he later stated that users who employ Grok to produce illegal content would face the same consequences as those who upload prohibited material directly to the platform.

Reports said that Grok also acknowledged the issue publicly. In a reply to a user on X on Friday, the AI tool said it was “urgently fixing” the matter and emphasized that child sexual abuse material is “illegal and prohibited.”
