LG unveils AI-powered laundry and fabric care at joyful clean holiday pop-up in MOA

LG Electronics brought smart home innovation to the holiday spotlight as it launched the Joyful Clean Holiday Pop-Up at SM Mall of Asia from December 12 to 17, giving tech-savvy consumers a first look at its latest AI-powered washing machines and the upgraded LG Styler with HandySteamer™.

Designed as an immersive experience, the pop-up blended holiday flair with hands-on tech demos, allowing visitors to explore how LG’s next-generation home solutions use artificial intelligence to simplify everyday chores.

Hosted by content creator Kuk Shine, the event drew families, fashion enthusiasts, and gadget lovers, with special appearances by Korean actor-singer Kim Won Shik and a high-energy performance from Saja Boys, adding entertainment to the tech showcase.

At the heart of the pop-up were LG’s newest AI Front Load and Top Load Washing Machines, engineered to adapt to modern household needs.

Through smart sensors and deep-learning technology, the washers automatically detect fabric type, load weight, and softness to optimize wash cycles—helping users save time, water, and energy during the busy holiday season.

LG Philippines Managing Director Nakhyun Seong said the pop-up was designed to let consumers experience how AI-driven appliances can make everyday living more convenient. He highlighted that the new lineup reflects LG’s focus on combining Korean technology with practical, real-world use, especially for families managing heavier laundry loads during the holidays.

“We’re excited to open this week-long pop-up store where you can experience the latest innovations from our new AI-powered Washing Machines and the new LG Styler. These products represent the best of Korean technology: smart, efficient, and designed to make everyday living easier, especially during the busy holiday season,” he shared.

LG Philippines Product Manager for Washing Machines Patricia Sioson introduced the new AI Front Load series, including the 15/8kg Front Load Washer Dryer and the 15kg Front Load Washer. Built for larger households, the models feature intuitive LED and LCD interfaces and bigger capacities that allow users to wash more clothes in fewer cycles.

“LG AI washers are designed to handle bigger loads, perfect for families during the holidays. You can wash more clothes in fewer loads, and these models come with bigger capacity options. The LED model has clean, modern touch buttons, and the LCD model is very intuitive and user-friendly,” she said.

The AI Front Load washers also integrate with the LG ThinQ App, enabling users to download specialized cycles such as Pet Care, which targets pet odors and stubborn stains—an increasingly popular feature among pet-owning households.

For top-load users, LG showcased its AI Top Load Washing Machine, powered by AI DD™ technology. The system uses deep learning to analyze fabric characteristics, ensuring gentler yet effective washing. Features such as 6-Motion Direct Drive, AI Wash, and Turbo Wash further enhance performance by mimicking handwashing motions while reducing overall wash time without sacrificing cleanliness.

LG also spotlighted its upgraded LG Styler with HandySteamer™, positioning it as a smart solution for fast-paced lifestyles. According to LG Philippines Product Marketing Manager for Home Solutions Emerging Products Alyssa Alvarez, the Styler now features a Smart LCD Touch Display for easier operation and real-time monitoring.

“The LG Styler is designed to fit seamlessly into your daily life,” she shared. “It now features a Smart LCD Touch Display, making it even easier for users to operate with intuitive controls, clear icons, and real-time monitoring,” said Alvarez.

The LG Styler offers multiple fabric-care features, including QuickRefresh™, which freshens clothes in just 18 minutes, EZ Fit PantsPress™ for crease-free trousers, and an AutoFresh System™ that deodorizes garments while dehumidifying indoor spaces. It also removes up to 99% of dust particles through a gentle motion, making it ideal for both daily wear and special-occasion outfits.

Kim Won Shik shared how the AI-powered washing machines align with his demanding schedule, noting that automated fabric detection is a key feature for someone constantly juggling rehearsals, filming, and travel.

“With my busy schedule, rehearsals, filming, and traveling, taking care of my clothes is important. That’s why I’m excited about the LG Washing Machine lineup, especially the feature that detects fabric and chooses the best wash automatically.” He also thanked LG Electronics and his Filipino fans, sending his gratitude and holiday cheer to everyone present.

Host Kuk Shine also highlighted the LG Styler as a personal essential, describing it as a time-saving solution that keeps outfits fresh and wrinkle-free even on packed days.

During the event, LG Philippines Product Director for Home Solutions Chang Hee Doh offered a sneak peek at the company’s 2026 TX Top Load series, teasing a sleeker design and enhanced intelligence through upgraded AI DD™, 6 Motion™, and TurboWash3D™ technologies—signaling LG’s continued push toward smarter, more intuitive home appliances.

“This is part of the next-generation TX Topload series. You’ll immediately notice the new design, sleeker, more modern, and built for intelligent fabric care. Inside, you can expect upgrades with AI DD™, 6 Motion™, and TurboWash3D™, making top load washing smarter than ever,” he shared.

The Joyful Clean Holiday Pop-Up runs until December 17 at Level 2, SM Mall of Asia Entertainment Mall, where visitors can join raffles for LG appliances, including a 20L NeoChef Microwave Oven and 21kg AI Top Load Washing Machines. Winners will be announced via LG Philippines’ official social media pages.
