As millions of Filipinos head back to their provinces to observe Undas, families are reminded to prioritize safety and keep in mind that Unified 911—the national toll-free emergency hotline—is always ready to respond in times of need.

Unified 911 integrates the emergency response efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and local disaster risk reduction and management offices (LDRRMOs).

Launched last month by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the BFP, in partnership with PLDT Enterprise, ePLDT, Next Generation Advanced (NGA), and Next Generation Core Services (NGCS Inc.), the Unified 911 system vastly improves all existing 911 call handling and response capabilities, ensuring that help is only one quick call away for every Filipino.

The upgraded platform integrates agencies’ efforts and strengthens coordination, particularly during high-traffic periods like All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

The All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day break is one of the year’s busiest travel periods, with crowds filling cemeteries, terminals, and highways.

During this time, the 911 hotline serves as a trusted lifeline for immediate response to emergencies—whether it’s a medical situation, accident, fire, or public safety concern.

With just one number to call, anyone across the country can reach trained responders who can coordinate with the nearest police, fire, or rescue units.

It is free to call 911 from any mobile or landline. With emergency teams on heightened alert this week, help is quickly dispatched where it’s needed most.

Travelers are reminded to use the hotline responsibly by staying calm, giving clear details, and following responders’ instructions. These small steps can make a big difference in saving lives and ensuring a safer Undas for everyone.

The 911 hotline has become a vital tool for Filipinos, reflecting the spirit of community and care that defines this season of remembrance. It offers peace of mind to families on the road or in crowded areas, knowing that assistance is always within reach.

Behind this dependable service is the network infrastructure of PLDT, which powers the 911 system and keeps it running smoothly across the nation. Through PLDT’s reliable connectivity, the hotline remains a steady channel for help—supporting millions of Filipinos as they journey home to honor their loved ones.
