Globe ramps up restoration efforts in typhoon-hit North Luzon

Globe has mobilized restoration teams to bring back connectivity in areas battered by Super Typhoon Nando, which left parts of North Luzon without vital communication services.

“We have mobilized our network teams on ground so restoration can start immediately,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “Our priority is to quickly and safely restore essential communications services.”

According to Globe, 276 cities and municipalities across 15 provinces within its coverage were affected, including Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales.

The hardest-hit province is Ilocos Norte, where 22 towns and cities are experiencing outages, primarily due to power interruptions.

In total, 100 municipalities across North Luzon are facing service disruptions linked to power loss and transmission issues. Globe said its technical teams are prioritizing restoration in these high-impact areas to ensure residents, local governments, and emergency responders regain access to essential connectivity.

To support affected communities while restoration continues, Globe has activated several Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging (LTLC) sites in Cagayan province.

These include locations in Magapit, Lallo; Centro and Baua, Gonzaga; Baggao and Camalaniugan; Sta. Ana; and Aparri. The sites are open from September 23 to 25, operating daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., where residents can make free calls and recharge their devices.

Globe is also working with partners to mobilize relief assistance in severely affected areas.

The company assured the public that more updates will be provided as the situation develops through its GlobeICON social media pages.
