The Women in Security Alliance Philippines (WiSAP), a nonprofit organization focused on empowering women in the cyber ecosystem, has signed a two-year partnership with De La Salle University Lipa (DLSU Lipa) to strengthen collaboration in technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, with the highlight being an academic tour in Singapore in the first half of 2026.
WiSAP Chairperson and President Mel Migriño underscored the significance of the partnership in preparing students and educators for a rapidly changing digital landscape.
“This collaboration with DLSU Lipa allows us to bridge academic learning with practical industry applications,” Migriño said ‘By providing students with international exposure and opportunities to engage with global innovation leaders, we are helping build a generation that is not only digitally skilled but also globally competitive.”
Under the agreement, WiSAP will manage and co-host the academic tour for DLSU Lipa students to immerse themselves in Singapore’s innovation ecosystem and gain exposure to emerging technologies.
As part of the collaboration, WiSAP and DLSU Lipa will create joint projects focused on cybersecurity, technology, and digital transformation, with emphasis on managing digital risks.
Both institutions will also co-promote the agreed projects within their communities to encourage greater participation and cooperation.
Additionally, WiSAP will support and help facilitate DLSU Lipa in organizing the academic tour outside the Philippines by leveraging its strong connections within the Asia Pacific region.
On her part, DLSU Lipa Chancellor Dr. Merlin Teodosia C. Suarez welcomed the collaboration, saying:
“DLSL is thrilled about this partnership, as it empowers us to deliver outstanding, real-world learning experiences for our students while keeping our teachers in step with the latest industry trends. With WiSAP, we can expand our reach and set our sights on even greater possibilities.”
Through this partnership, DLSU Lipa students are expected to gain valuable opportunities to experience international innovation hubs, while educators enhance their skills in line with global digital trends.
