E-wallet platform GCash has suspended online gambling access on GLife starting 8 p.m. on August 16, after receiving a directive from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

“In compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Memorandum No. M-2025-029, gaming access on GLife has now been suspended as of 8 PM, August 16, 2025,” GCash said in an advisory.

For players who were unable to withdraw their funds from the gaming wallet before the suspension, GCash advised them to “please coordinate directly with the licensed gaming merchant or by visiting their official website.”

The move follows the BSP’s order on August 14 directing all e-wallet platforms to remove links to online gambling sites within 48 hours.

The order came to light during a Senate hearing of the Committee on Games and Amusements, held jointly with the Committees on Banks, Financial Institutions and Currencies; Youth; Economic Affairs; and Ways and Means.
