Scam Watch Pilipinas has announced its support for PhilSec 2025, one of the country’s premier cybersecurity conferences, underscoring the group’s commitment to promoting an inclusive and community-driven approach to cybersecurity.

As online threats continue to evolve and target individuals, businesses, and institutions, Scam Watch Pilipinas emphasized the importance of instilling a cybersecurity mindset across all sectors of society—from executives to everyday users.

“Cybersecurity is no longer just a technical issue,” said Jocel de Guzman, co-founder of Scam Watch Pilipinas. “It must be part of a company’s DNA. We urge Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and digital leaders to extend their reach beyond the server room and build cross-functional cybersecurity teams that encompass communications, HR, legal, operations, and even customer service. Cybersecurity awareness should reach everyone in the organization—from the C-suite to the frontlines.”

De Guzman also pointed out that the weakest link in most organizations is not the system—it’s the end user. “Infrastructure is already protected by cybersecurity systems and tools. But all it takes is one uninformed employee clicking a malicious link or falling for a scam to compromise everything. That’s why awareness, education, and an inclusive cybersecurity culture are non-negotiable,” De Guzman said.

Scam Watch Pilipinas continues to advocate for cybersecurity inclusion, ensuring that even the most digitally challenged Filipinos—such as senior citizens, students, and grassroots communities—are empowered to protect themselves from scams, phishing, and other cyber threats.

PhilSec 2025 gathers cybersecurity experts, policymakers, corporate executives, and stakeholders for high-level discussions on data protection, critical infrastructure, threat intelligence, and corporate cyber resilience. The event provides a platform for collaboration and innovation in securing the Philippines’ digital future.

Interested participants may register for PhilSec 2025 at https://philsecsummit.com/delegate-registration-257/ which
