LG Electronics has introduced new enhancements to its LG Sound Suite audio system, adding DTS:X support, dual-subwoofer connectivity, and expanded wireless compatibility to give users more flexibility in setting up their home entertainment systems.
Announced on Oct. 14, the updates build on LG Sound Suite, which the company introduced at CES 2026 as the world’s first soundbar audio system powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.
Among the major additions is DTS:X support for the H7 soundbar, allowing users to experience multidimensional audio when playing compatible content through supported devices.
The enhancement expands the system’s audio format compatibility, particularly for home theater enthusiasts seeking immersive sound experiences beyond Dolby Atmos.
LG said the update also responds to customer feedback calling for broader compatibility with immersive audio formats.
“LG Sound Suite was created to make immersive audio more flexible, more accessible and easier to enjoy,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s Audio Business Division.
“These latest enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to expanding what LG Sound Suite can do, giving consumers more freedom to build the audio experience that best fits their home, their content and the way they listen.”
To further expand DTS:X compatibility, LG is developing the LG Media Connect Hub, which will allow users to access DTS:X playback through compatible external source devices.
The company said additional details about the upcoming device will be announced through its official channels.
Beyond audio format support, LG has expanded the system’s configuration options by enabling users to connect two W7 subwoofers within compatible LG Sound Suite setups.
The dual-subwoofer capability is designed to provide more consistent bass performance across larger rooms and multiple seating positions.
Rather than focusing solely on increased bass output, the feature gives users additional placement options to achieve more balanced low-frequency sound throughout their listening space.
LG has also improved wireless connectivity by adding support for Wi-Fi 6 GHz networks and stereo configurations operating on 5 GHz Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels.
These additions are intended to make the system more adaptable to different home networking environments while maintaining its wireless setup capabilities.
Unlike conventional home theater systems that often require fixed speaker arrangements, LG Sound Suite uses a modular design that allows users to customize their speaker configurations based on available space and listening preferences.
The company has also introduced Google Cast support for the H7 soundbar, allowing users to stream music, podcasts, and other audio content directly from compatible applications and devices.
The latest updates complement existing LG Sound Suite technologies, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, Sound Follow, and Room Calibration Pro.
Together, these features are designed to simplify speaker placement, optimize audio performance, and provide a more personalized listening experience.
LG said the enhancements form part of its continuing efforts to expand the Sound Suite ecosystem as consumers increasingly seek audio systems that complement premium televisions, streaming services, and gaming experiences.
The company has not provided Philippine-specific availability or pricing details for the newly announced enhancements.
