The Parañaque City government has launched an investigation into one of its employees following a road incident captured in a video circulating on social media.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Oct. 13, the local government confirmed that it was aware of the incident and had already identified the employee involved.
The employee has been directed to submit a written explanation as authorities determine whether administrative charges should be filed.

The city government said the investigation would be conducted in accordance with Civil Service rules while ensuring that the employee’s right to due process is respected.
It also stressed that inappropriate conduct by government personnel would not be tolerated, regardless of whether they are on or off duty.
Under Republic Act No. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, government workers are expected to demonstrate courtesy, restraint, and respect toward the public at all times.
The local government thanked the public for bringing the incident to its attention and urged patience as the investigation proceeds.
Further updates will be released as appropriate, the city government said.
