LG launches xboom Power Series with AI karaoke, up to 440W output

LG Electronics has introduced its new xboom Power Series, a lineup of party speakers combining high-output audio, AI-powered karaoke features and interactive lighting for indoor and outdoor gatherings.

The lineup consists of the LG xboom Power 9000, Power 7000 and Power 5000, which deliver continuous output power of 440W, 340W and 260W RMS, respectively.

All three models feature xboom Signature Sound, which LG said was refined and tuned by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist will.i.am to deliver stronger bass while maintaining clear and balanced audio.

The Power 9000 sits at the top of the lineup and is designed for large parties and outdoor events. It comes with dual 10-inch woofers, dual one-inch horn tweeters and a claimed sound coverage of around 2,000 square meters.

The Power 7000, meanwhile, is aimed at large gatherings and outdoor entertainment, delivering 340W through a 10-inch woofer and dual one-inch horn tweeters. LG claims it can cover an area of approximately 800 square meters.

For smaller celebrations and family gatherings, the Power 5000 offers 260W of output, an eight-inch woofer and dual two-inch tweeters, with claimed coverage of around 400 square meters.

AI turns songs into karaoke tracks

One of the key additions to the xboom Power Series is AI Karaoke Master, which allows users to turn songs from their existing music libraries into karaoke tracks without requiring dedicated karaoke versions.

Its AI Vocal Remover uses artificial intelligence to remove vocals from existing tracks, while Key Changer adjusts the pitch of a song to better match a user’s vocal range.

LG also equipped the speakers with one-touch karaoke activation and dual microphone inputs, allowing two users to sing simultaneously.

A built-in Smart Stand can hold a smartphone or tablet, giving users a place to display lyrics while singing.

Beyond karaoke, the speakers feature Multicolor AI Lighting and DJ Performance Effects designed to synchronize visual and audio elements during gatherings.

AI adjusts sound based on music, surroundings

The xboom Power Series also uses AI to automatically adjust audio depending on what is being played.

AI Sound analyzes audio and changes sound settings according to the music genre, while Space Calibration Pro adjusts output based on the size and layout of the surrounding environment.

Sound Field Enhance is designed to create a wider soundstage, while users can also choose among Standard, Bass Boost, Clear Voice and Custom equalizer settings.

The speakers support Auracast, allowing compatible speakers across LG’s xboom lineup to be connected for synchronized playback and wider sound coverage.

“The best parties are the ones where people participate, not just listen,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s Audio Business.

“With the LG xboom Power Series, we are creating a more interactive and inclusive way for people to connect through music, turning gatherings of every size into the kind of parties people remember long after the music stops.”

For portability, the 26.2-kilogram Power 9000 comes with built-in gliding wheels and a handle, while the Power 7000 and Power 5000 weigh 18.7 kilograms and 14.8 kilograms, respectively, and feature side handles.

The Power 9000 also gets full-circle lighting with two strobe lights, while the Power 7000 has full-circle lighting with one strobe light. The Power 5000 comes with full-circle lighting.

LG said the xboom Power Series became available in select markets beginning Aug. 17, with pricing, specifications and availability varying by region.
