Panasonic powers Tamiya racers at TMAC 2026

• POWERED UP: Panasonic Alkaline Batteries equipped the Tamiya cars with longer-lasting energy, helping them stay race-ready.

Panasonic supplied alkaline batteries to nearly 200 racers who competed in the Tamiya Mini 4WD Asia Challenge 2026, held from June 26 to 28 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

The three-day regional championship brought together participants from Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Racers tested their miniature vehicles through practice runs and competitive heats that required both speed and consistent power output.

Panasonic said its alkaline batteries were used to help keep the Tamiya cars running throughout the competition, reducing the need for frequent battery replacements.

“After a lot of tests, we realize that the Panasonic Alkaline Batteries have quite the punch. It lasts long, and I don’t have to change batteries quite often, so it’s the best,” Team Singapore said.

The company also distributed free batteries and promotional items to participants and attendees during the event.

Panasonic said its alkaline batteries feature Anti-Leak Seal Technology and can have a shelf life of up to 10 years when unused and properly stored. The storage period may vary depending on the country or region, while the claim does not cover nine-volt batteries.

Beyond the championship, the batteries may also be used by racers during vehicle testing, practice sessions, and future Mini 4WD competitions.
