HUAWEI rolls out back-to-school promos for MatePad tablets, nova Y74

HUAWEI is targeting students this back-to-school season with new productivity bundles and promotions for its MatePad tablet lineup and nova Y74 smartphone.

The company said the HUAWEI MatePad Family is designed to support students who move between lectures, digital readings, online submissions, group work, and creative projects. The lineup includes the HUAWEI MatePad Pro, HUAWEI MatePad 12 X 2026, HUAWEI MatePad 11.5 S 2026, and HUAWEI MatePad 11.5.

HUAWEI, citing IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker, said its tablets ranked first in the Philippines by shipment volume from the first to third quarter of 2025.

The MatePad Family offers a PC-like 4-in-1 setup composed of the tablet, Smart Magnetic Keyboard, Bluetooth mouse, and HUAWEI M-Pencil. The devices also feature an Ultra-Clear PaperMatte Display, which is designed to reduce glare and provide a paper-like writing and viewing experience for reading, note-taking, annotation, and sketching.

For school productivity, the tablets come with PC-Level WPS Office 3.0, which includes AI-powered features such as Smart Create in WPS Word, Generate Slides from Docs, AI Summarize, AI Sheet Assistant, and Batch Processor. These tools are intended to help students create documents, convert reports into presentations, summarize lengthy readings, and manage spreadsheet-heavy schoolwork.

The devices also support productivity and learning tools such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Grammarly, Jupyter, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Google Sheets, Canva, and GoPaint, allowing students to use the tablets for writing, coding, virtual classes, collaboration, and creative work.

HUAWEI said it recently launched its HUAWEI Campus Ambassadors Program across universities in Metro Manila to highlight real student experiences using the MatePad Family. The program will feature student ambassadors creating content around campus productivity scenarios such as preparing for exams, working on thesis presentations, managing organization work, attending classes, and balancing internships.

The company is also preparing campus roadshows in selected universities, where students can experience the MatePad lineup through booth activations and hands-on demos.

Starting July 7, senior high school and college students may avail of exclusive back-to-school promos and bundle offers when they purchase a HUAWEI MatePad. Eligible buyers can get a 4-in-1 bundle that includes the HUAWEI M-Pencil, Smart Keyboard, mouse, and WPS Office, worth PHP 21,896.

Students purchasing during the promo period will also receive a one-year WPS AI Membership worth PHP 7,000, a free bag worth PHP 1,990, and a surprise gift.

HUAWEI is also opening pre-orders for the upcoming HUAWEI MatePad Mini starting July 1. The compact tablet features an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display, a 260-gram body, and a 5.2-mm thin design.

Customers who pre-order the MatePad Mini can get a bundle that includes a HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro worth PHP 7,999, a MatePad Mini Flip Cover worth PHP 3,499, pre-installed PC-level WPS Office, and after-sales support that includes a three-year one-time free battery replacement and a one-year two-time free PaperMatte Display Care package worth PHP 2,999.

HUAWEI is also promoting the nova Y74 as a budget-friendly smartphone option for students. The device is powered by a 6620mAh battery and supports 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo.

According to HUAWEI, the nova Y74 can deliver up to 30.6 hours of local video playback, 24.9 hours of online video streaming, 59.3 hours of online music playback, and 48.1 hours of continuous calling on a single charge.

The smartphone also features drop resistance of up to 1.8 meters, pressure resistance of up to 65 kg, and temperature resistance down to -20°C. It comes with a 6.67-inch EyeEase Display and AI Smart Control, which allows users to quickly access frequently used apps and shortcuts.

The HUAWEI nova Y74 promo starts July 1 through the HUAWEI Online Store and HUAWEI’s official shops on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. The device will be available at a promo price of PHP 14,999, down from its suggested retail price of PHP 15,999. Buyers may also use a PHP 300 early bird voucher.
