CICC heightens social media monitoring amid EDSA rally
The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center has intensified its monitoring of social media platforms as thousands of protesters gathered along EDSA on Tuesday, June 30.
CICC said its Threat Monitoring Center found that most of the monitored online engagements were related to media coverage of the protest and traffic advisories.
The agency said this was followed by negative public sentiment over the heavy traffic caused by the unexpected gathering and the road closures implemented along the major thoroughfare.
In response, CICC said it continues to maintain heightened round-the-clock online monitoring to detect and address misleading or false information related to the protest.
The rally was linked to the possible filing of a plunder case against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta.
CICC urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report suspected disinformation related to the protest rally through Hotline 1326.
