Huawei WATCH Kids X1 gives parents a new tool to monitor children’s safety
Huawei has introduced the HUAWEI WATCH Kids X1 in the Philippines, a child-focused smartwatch designed to help parents monitor their children’s location, manage communication, limit distractions during school hours, and respond to emergencies.
The device will be available in the country starting June 30, 2026, at an early promo price of ₱13,999 through the HUAWEI Online Store, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Huawei Experience Stores nationwide.
Designed for families with young children, the WATCH Kids X1 is positioned as a practical tool for parents who want to give their children more independence while keeping safety measures within reach.
Through the HUAWEI FamCare app, parents can check their child’s location in near real time, whether the child is on the way to school, playing in a park, or moving around a crowded mall. The watch supports GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS positioning, along with Huawei’s network-based location service.
Parents can also set safe zones and danger zones. The watch can send notifications when a child enters or approaches a restricted area, allowing parents to respond more quickly when needed.
For school days, the device includes a School Guard feature that notifies parents when their child arrives at or leaves school and home. It also has a Class Mode that helps reduce distractions by showing only the time while still allowing emergency calls.
The smartwatch also gives parents control over who can contact their child. Through the FamCare app, parents can manage chats, monitor usage time, check battery levels, receive charging reminders, control nighttime use, and block unknown callers.
In case of emergency, the child can press the side button five times to trigger an SOS alert. The watch will then automatically call family members in sequence.
The WATCH Kids X1 also supports HD video calls with AI noise cancellation, which can help children communicate with parents even in noisy areas such as school buses, playgrounds, or public spaces. It also supports global 2G, 3G, and 4G connectivity.
Beyond safety and communication, Huawei said the watch is also built to encourage children to stay active and creative. It has step tracking, leaderboards, and encouragement features that allow children to interact with approved peers. Friend requests made through the Shake to Add Friends feature still require parental approval through the FamCare app.
The device also comes with a 1.82-inch horizontal AMOLED screen, a 360-degree rotatable watch body, and dual cameras. It has a 5-megapixel front camera with a 110-degree ultra-wide-angle lens and a 13-megapixel rear camera, allowing children to take selfies, group photos, and everyday snapshots.
With 32GB of storage, children can save photos and share them with family through One-Tap Photo Sharing. They can also personalize the watch using official watch faces, stickers, filters, and photo styles.
The smartwatch also includes heart rate monitoring and wellness-related features. Huawei said the device is not intended for medical use, and the data should not be used for diagnosis or treatment.
The WATCH Kids X1 has IPX8 and IPX9 2 ATM water resistance, making it suitable for everyday use such as handwashing, outdoor play, and swimming. It is powered by an 850 mAh battery that Huawei said can last up to 32 hours and charge up to 50 percent in 20 minutes.
The HUAWEI WATCH Kids X1 will be available in Breezy Blue and Candy Pink.
As part of the first-sale offer, customers may claim a ₱2,000 voucher through Huawei’s online channels. Buyers at Huawei Experience Stores nationwide will receive a ₱2,000 First Sale discount. Each purchase also comes with a free one-year unlimited accidental damage protection plan and a complimentary battery replacement service worth ₱1,599.
Flexible payment options are also available through credit card installment plans of up to 12 months at ₱1,167 per month, or Home Credit installments of up to nine months at ₱1,089 per month with a 30 percent down payment.
