HUAWEI Band 11 series brings smartwatch-level features to budget fitness bands

HUAWEI is pushing the boundaries of what a fitness band can do with the launch of the HUAWEI Band 11 and HUAWEI Band 11 Pro, introducing smartwatch-level features such as independent GPS, a larger AMOLED display, and advanced health monitoring in a slim and lightweight wearable.

Traditionally positioned as entry-level devices mainly used for step counting, fitness bands are now evolving into more capable everyday companions. With the Band 11 Series, HUAWEI aims to reposition the category by integrating features typically found in full smartwatches while maintaining the portability and affordability of a band-type device.

The Band 11 Series features a 1.62-inch AMOLED display, around 27 percent larger than the previous generation, designed to provide clearer access to notifications, workout metrics, and health insights directly from the wrist. The Band 11 Pro reaches up to 2,000 nits brightness, while the standard Band 11 delivers 1,500 nits, allowing the screen to remain readable even under strong sunlight.

Despite the larger display, the wearable remains extremely compact. The band measures just 8.99 millimeters thin and weighs around 16 to 18 grams, making it light enough to be worn continuously throughout the day and even during sleep. The design also accommodates different lifestyles, from office environments to workouts and daily commuting.

Fitness tracking is one of the main highlights of the Band 11 Series. The device supports more than 100 sports modes, allowing users to monitor activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and recovery workouts. It also features auto-detection, which can recognize certain exercises automatically once a workout begins.

The HUAWEI Band 11 Pro adds a major upgrade with built-in independent GPS (GNSS), enabling users to track outdoor workouts without carrying a smartphone. The feature records route, pace, and distance using the band’s own GPS chip and antenna.

For runners, the band also introduces an AI-powered running plan, offering training guidance and performance insights directly on the wearable. Meanwhile, the Track Run Mode helps provide more accurate lap tracking in stadium environments by correcting lane distance and GPS drift.

Advanced running analytics are also included in the Pro model. Running posture analysis can measure metrics such as ground contact time, vertical oscillation, and balance, helping users better understand their running form and potentially improve efficiency.

Beyond fitness tracking, the Band 11 Series integrates several health monitoring tools designed to run quietly in the background. The wearable uses HUAWEI TruSleep™ 4.0 technology to analyze sleep quality, breathing patterns, and overnight recovery data.

The band also includes heart rhythm monitoring with pulse-wave arrhythmia analysis, alongside all-day heart rate variability (HRV) tracking, allowing users to monitor how their bodies respond to stress and physical activity over time.

Battery performance is another key feature, with the Band 11 Series offering up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge. When power runs low, the band can be fully recharged in about 40 to 60 minutes.

Beyond health and fitness, the wearable also supports several everyday smart features. These include Quick Replies for messages and GCash Watch Pay, allowing users to complete QR-based payments directly from the band. The device is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones through the HUAWEI Health app.

The HUAWEI Band 11 is now available in the Philippines starting at PHP 2,399, while the HUAWEI Band 11 Pro is priced at PHP 4,499. Both models are available through major online platforms and HUAWEI Experience Stores.

With features such as smartwatch-like displays, independent GPS tracking, and comprehensive health monitoring, the Band 11 Series reflects how wearable technology is gradually blurring the line between fitness bands and full smartwatches—bringing more advanced capabilities to a broader range of users.
