LG sound suite debuts as the world’s first soundbar system powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect
- LG
LG Electronics unveiled LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system designed to simplify immersive sound while giving users far greater flexibility in how they build their setup.
At the center of the system is the H7 soundbar, the world’s first soundbar powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which automatically adapts surround sound to a room’s layout without the need for complex speaker placement or calibration.
LG Sound Suite is built around a wireless, mix-and-match approach. Users can pair the H7 soundbar with M7 and M5 surround speakers and the W7 subwoofer—or even run select speaker configurations without the soundbar—resulting in up to 27 possible system layouts.
This allows consumers to start with a minimal setup and expand over time, scaling all the way up to a full 13.1.7-channel home theater. When the H7 soundbar acts as the lead device, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect works with any TV via HDMI, removing the traditional constraints of fixed speaker positions.
LG also announced that Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will be supported on its 2026 premium TV lineup, as well as select 2025 models, through a future software update. This expands compatibility across LG’s ecosystem and gives users more options to experience Dolby Atmos without replacing existing hardware.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is designed to make immersive audio more accessible. The system intelligently detects the position of wireless speakers and optimizes sound delivery based on the room and listener placement.
This allows explosions to feel more impactful, dialogue clearer, and music more lifelike—without requiring users to fine-tune distances or angles manually. Setup is intended to be straightforward, focusing on flexibility rather than traditional home theater complexity.
As streaming platforms increasingly deliver movies, series, and live sports in Dolby Atmos, demand for cinematic audio at home has grown alongside large-screen TVs.
LG Sound Suite targets this shift by combining wireless convenience with performance, bringing surround sound back to the center of the living room. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity further simplify pairing with TVs and streaming devices.
LG adds its own audio intelligence on top of Dolby’s technology. Sound Follow uses ultra-wideband technology to adjust the listening sweet spot based on the user’s location in the room, helping ensure consistent immersion from different seating positions. Room Calibration Pro analyzes the acoustic characteristics of the space and applies AI-driven processing to balance sound output for a more uniform listening experience.
Powering the H7 soundbar is LG’s α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen 3, the same processor used in the company’s flagship OLED TVs. Applied to audio, the chip uses deep learning and neural processing to enhance clarity and spatial detail. AI Sound Pro+ can up-mix stereo content into a spatial audio experience, while AI-based object separation helps distinguish dialogue, music, and effects. The system also adapts sound profiles depending on the type of content being played.
Each component in the LG Sound Suite uses Peerless speaker units, known for high-performance audio craftsmanship. By pairing these speakers with the flexibility of Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and LG’s AI-driven tuning, the system aims to deliver immersive sound without the traditional barriers of wired, fixed-position setups.
