VITRO Inc., the data center arm of ePLDT under the PLDT Group, has denied any data breach following a social media post by cybersecurity personality “Klammer” that appeared to show a compromised VITRO asset.
“Yes, we are aware of the recent social media post alleging a security issue involving VITRO’s applications. After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that no unauthorized data breach or extraction has occurred. Nonetheless, we are monitoring the situation and proactively strengthening our security measures across all fronts to ensure continued protection,” said VITRO President and CEO Viboy Genuino in an official statement.

Klammer earlier posted screenshots that she claimed were proof of a successful exploit on a server operated by VITRO. One screenshot showed the exploit being executed using a web security testing tool. Another terminal window showed the same method reproduced using the another command-line tool, indicating the vulnerability could be exploited with minimal resources.
