The newly formed Data Center Operators of the Philippines marked its international debut at Pacific Telecommunications Council 2026, presenting a unified front aimed at strengthening the country’s role in the regional digital infrastructure landscape.
The group, composed of major data center operators including VITRO Inc., ST Telemedia Global Data Centres Philippines, YCO Cloud, Digital Halo, Digital Edge Philippines, and A-FLOW, gathered industry stakeholders to highlight the Philippines’ readiness to support growing demand for cloud services, hyperscale facilities, and emerging technologies.
Philippine Deputy Consul General Pamela F. Durian-Bailon attended the event, signaling diplomatic support for initiatives that promote the country’s digital infrastructure development.
Victor S. Genuino, President of the Data Center Operators of the Philippines and President and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc., pointed to increasing demand in the region.
“The Philippines is at a point where it can truly position itself as the next digital destination in Southeast Asia. Demand for cloud, hyperscale, and emerging technologies like AI is only increasing, and with the right partnerships, infrastructure, and policies in place, we’re well positioned to support that growth,” he said.
Carlo Malana, Corporate Secretary of the alliance and President and CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, said the joint presence at PTC reflects industry coordination.
“For the first time at PTC, we are standing together as a unified industry to showcase that the Philippines is ready and has the collective capacity to meet global demand. By promoting the country as a strategic data center hub and leveraging robust government incentives from the BOI, we are ensuring we are equipped to support the massive infrastructure needs of the international digital economy,” Malana said.
According to the group, the alliance represents a combined 473 megawatts of IT power capacity. It aims to advance infrastructure development, improve connectivity, support access to renewable energy, and advocate for policy frameworks that encourage sustainable growth.
The organization also cited priorities such as competitive power rates, infrastructure readiness, and data localization policies as factors seen as important to attracting further investments in cloud and artificial intelligence workloads.
Nikolas de Ynchausti, Trustee of the alliance and Co-Founder of YCO Cloud, said the industry’s collaboration reflects a long-term view of the country’s digital economy.
“We are certainly proud to invest back and contribute to the country’s next chapter of growth, with the goal of enabling the entry of new economies and industries to future-proof the nation,” he said.
The debut at PTC 2026 positions the alliance as a formal industry voice at a time when Southeast Asia continues to see increased interest in data center development, driven by enterprise digitalization, cloud adoption, and AI-related workloads.
